Mike and I have been listening to an owl hooting at night. He is so loud we can hear him with our windows shut. I have always wanted to see an owl. Of course his name is Hootie. The other night he was singing away, and Mike went outside to take out the garbage. He looked up in our neighbor's tree after Hootie hooted loudly, and there he was sitting on a high branch! He is a great Horned owl and you could see his "ears" and everything. We watched him for several minutes, and then he swooped over the marsh.

He has good hunting for sure in that big marsh. The only owl(s) I ever saw were two in a tree at the side of the road at Cherry Home. We heard a strange screeching, stopped and looked up. They were barred owls.

NICE! You'll have to remind me to take you to the local bird place here. They usually have someone hanging on to a few cool bird of prey which couldn't be released into the wild. Those owls are cool to check out from a foot away. I like the 200 degree head rotation bit...
