Buns are cooked
We did the Cook your Buns 5K race tonight after work. We do a lot of races put on in Greenwich. It is the best sporting value we have encountered in a long time. $15 for a T-shirt, entry into Tod's Point (if we went there to hang out it would have cost us a total of $40 dollars), and a post race BBQ put on by Whole Foods. Mike wanted to get a hotdog before the race, and we joked about having BBQ instead of water stops. It makes me want to live in Greenwich so we could go to their beach when we wanted. I was not trying for a good run (I am being careful with the knees), but I ended up with a personal best anyways. I got to pass people for once. Mike placed in his age group, so he had a good showing. Greenwich lost a Supreme court ruling a few years ago, and now they have to allow others to use their beach. They keep exclusive by making you drive to another building to get a parking pass and charging $10/person and a $20 parking fee. The beach is nice, but it is not like the ones on Long Island on the open Atlantic. We go to Jones Beach for free with our NY parks pass!
